Make It Stop!

  1. Shannon Courtney Said,

 Hey girl, I hear you 100%… I have been like how you describe as far back as I can remember. Sometimes my release is to clean house and take advantage of the mania when you have all that high energy. Try to organize all you have to do by writing everything down in a place that is accessible so when and if you do crash- you can still stick with the priorities instead of crash and burn and get stressed when it comes time to go to the concerts, productions etc…
My Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays deal with those two holidays plus three birthdays. My son and I would split a cake… sometimes I gave him a party.
It’s a rush and sometimes you have to ride the waves- just get out and do and take advantage of the high energy- bake cookies, clean, do projects… make it a positive time cause you know that the negative times do come and then you will wish you had the energy. My kids are all grown now in their twenties- but I remember how it was when they were young and how I wanted everything to be perfect and to do so many things. Try not to do them all- stick to the basics and include a few things that make you feel good about you without getting overwhelmed… all I can say is that I’m here and hear ya. If you ever need to talk, I’m here.
You are young and so fortunate to have so many resources- especially the computer where you have a place to express yourself. All I had was 4 walls and my inner thoughts. I had no outlets- but I created one- cleaning… I guess I did become quite obsessive, but it gave me time to sort my head as I organized my house. Be in touch. Thanks for sharing!

Hey! Hope you’re doing better, thought I’d come on and say hey. God I’m beginning to get where you are, I’m talkin really fast, sleeping a little every now and then which is good, not really eating though, oh and I went shopping today, thankfully I got a big pay check so I didn’t do too much damage to myself. Had a friend there who was like “Okay now I think you should stop” and if he hadn’t done that, I dunno what damage I’d have done!

Anyway, just hoping you’re good, and all’s well before the big Xmas rush!

    Lorcan x

  3. jen Said,

you asked what people do when theyre going through the racing mania episodes. here are some things that i do:
run until it hurts. im not quite sure that this would be an option for you though [you mention that you have fibro? i dont know much about this, im sorry].

ive done many bouts of cleaning. i get very particular at times when im racey. there’s lots of different things to do while cleaning, so it mostly takes my distraction from all the thoughts, to all of the things i can be doing & will multitask until the end of time while im cleaning.

and sometimes when its so bad i just try to focus in on the lyrics of a song and lay in my bed. even if im fidgeting or my thoughts sway from the lyrics or the song, i find it calms me even the slightest bit.

i hope this helped a tad. any ideas or things that you do?
